CCN have informed us that fully paid up SAIA members will soon be able to download, free of charge, the CCN Basic Construction Specification 1.0 template in MS Word 2003 or 2007 format. This specification template has been created by Professor Hans Wegelin architect and former Associate Professor of Architecture at the University of Pretoria, and author of many books on specification writing in the construction industry. The Basic Specification is used in conjunction with the CCN SpecHelper service (entry level version also free of charge), which includes a handy side panel with access to specifier guidance notes as well as useful search functionality. Go to www.ccnportal.co.za/content/files/Spec%20writer%20white%20paper.pdf to download a useful White Paper explaining the SpecHelper service and how to download the Basic Specification.

CCN will send all SAIA members (corporate and individual) an email announcing the launch of the SpecHelper service in due course. In the meantime, if you have not yet registered on the CCN Portal, please go to www.ccnportal.co.za to register. This will ensure that as soon as the service is released, you will be given access to it.
