XXIII UIA WORLD CONGRESS OF ARCHITECTURE TORINO 2008

For the first time an Italian city hosts a World Congress of the International Union of Architects. Torino will be the location of this prestigious event which every three years reunites thousands of professionals and students to cover a theme analysing the future prospects of the profession and its relationship with the social and cultural problems of the moment. The theme chosen for the event in 2008 is Transmitting Architecture.

XXV UIA WORLD CONGRESS OF ARCHITECTURE DURBAN 2014

SAIA will be presenting our Bid to host the XXV UIA Congress 2014 in Durban during the XXIII UIA Congress in Turin in July. Since 1948, the UIA has organised World Congresses every three years in which, with an audience of professionals, students, representatives of the institutional, political and entrepreneurial world, topics related to the discipline and current issues are discussed. The last four congresses were held in Barcelona (1996), Beijing (1999), Berlin (2002) and Istanbul (2005); the XXIV Congress will take place in Tokyo (Japan) during 2011, and with your support the XXV Congress will be in Durban (South Africa) 2014.

The presentation will take place in Turin on Sunday 6 July 2008.

In preparation of the Bid, SAIA has commissioned Terrence Bray to design a white shirt for day time and bid presentation and a black shirt for the party the night before the official presentation.
