IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT – SACAP AMNESTY FOR RE-REGISTRATION – OFFERED FOR A LIMITED PERIOD ONLY FROM 01 OCTOBER – 31 DECEMBER 2014

SACAP is pleased to announce that Council approved an Amnesty Policy on 4 September 2014 to address the Re-Registration process.

As you are aware, the Architectural Profession Act, 2000 (Act No. 44 of 2000) does not permit a person to practice in any category whether it is a Candidate or Professional, unless a person is registered with SACAP in that category.

The Amnesty policy is designed to enable :

  • Professionals and Candidates who have been suspended from the register due to non-payment of all outstanding fees and who are not in a position to settle the full re-registration fee; and
  • Professionals that are non-compliant in terms of the SACAP CPD policy and who may be practicing within the architectural profession without being duly registered in terms of the Act, to practice architecture legally.

You will also note that SACAP has gone digital with the launch of a new online registration portal – Your Membership (YM). The site is restricted to FULLY PAID UP Architectural Professionals and Candidates.

Please note that your SACAP Registration will only be activated once the Amnesty applicable fees have been received in full. You will be provided with unlimited access to YM which will allow you access to the following: member log-in showing your full profile accessible to the public, maintenance of CPD records and Monthly Training Records (MTR), news and information, social media and various ongoing communications.

Click hereto read more about the Amnesty policy. Click here to access the link where you can apply online to complete the re-registration process.
Note: Candidate and Professional online applications are two separate applications.

As mentioned, the AMNESTY re-registration process is available for a limited period and we encourage you to re-register with SACAP to be compliant.
We look forward to having you as our valued Stakeholder.

Kind Regards,

Marella O’Reilly
SACAP Registrar
